Most voters are irrational. We're not belittling them. It’s reality. Why should they vote for you just because you did well? You can't guarantee that your opponent will do worse than you either.
Voters on obligate to vote for you. It's the same no matter how well you do. That's how a democratic society is.
Some people will just vote for their democracy and peace party. Some will just fall for the justice party. And some will only vote for good-looking people. In a democratic society, these are all allowed. We must accept them.

That's how election offence and defence is. Sometimes, you move in the direction of the wind. At times, against it. If we don't do anything, because we're afraid of making mistakes, then we'd be admitting defeat in advance, right?
If we'll be governing, we must make people willing to work here. This kind of old-fashioned unspoken rule is only telling women like us that this is not suitable to work here.
Politics is like loving a jerk. It’s hard to let go.

Humans are social creatures. Being rejected hurts. It activates the area of the brain that senses pain. Heartache is the same as the pain of a broken arm.
Sometimes, I think elections are quite demeaning. You keep smiling all day. Begging people here and there to vote for me. Do I really need that one vote?
We can't rely solely on those at the top in promoting reforms. I want to keep working in my position. To change this environment, I must find the battle position that belongs to me.
Elections are the fastest and most direct way to do it.

I feel that my work is very meaningful. If it's done right, I'm really changing society and Taiwan.
It's not that I'm willing to sacrifice. I just don't like how my sacrifice is so matter-of-fact.
What I need is for you to understand what I want. Then, when I tell you what I want, don't pretend to accept it if you can't do it anyway.
I hope we can communicate, not treat each other half-heartedly.
I want to work. I want you to understand that both of our works are equally important. I want you to turn off your phone for 30 minutes every day. The situation of election won't change in 30 minutes.
I want at least one day a week for our family to get together, and for us to play with our child. I want you to be included in this growth and not have to remind you of every important date.
I want you to listen to me talk. Don't start listening only when i'm mad.
These are very, very minor things. I know. But these very, very minor things are as important as the future of Taiwan.

Politicians don’t need to only be a certain way in oder to serve voters. I hope that someday, sexual and gender diversity awareness can reach new heights in Taiwan.

“No, that’s the second one. That’s in second place. Because once you run in an election, people will dig up everything from your past and make it public to everyone.”
Nude photos really have a huge impact on an individual. Do you understand how it feels when people look twice at you in the streets and you’d think “Hey has he seen my photos?” Then when you get home, you would crazily try to find them in those adult movies and websites and keep confirming if your nude photos have been leaked. It’s really tormenting.
No one’s privacy should be trampled upon this way. No one should live in fear. All these years, your pain is real. The life you’ve lost, your trust in people that was destroyed, those are all real. So stop thinking you have no right to seek justice for yourself. That’s enough.
In politics, there’s no straw that can break the camel’s back. The events are the ones that led to this outcome. Besides, this is just a process.
Once you’re in it, you’ll realise that things have changed and you’ll continue to doing it.
